Just returned from two weeks at Ariadne Apartments ,stayed there in 2008 ,though the apartment was the same one we stayed in 207 ,have to say the bathroom really needs a re vamp the toilet seat was dirty and discoloured ,the sink plug didnt keep the water in and generally needs a up grade, had to complain as maids were not doing the beds everyday and cleaning bathroom, though must admit the bins where emptied which of course is important ,the pool and bar area still lovely though and the friday night entertainment Shortie ,blues and rock music was very enjoyable . The Hill hasnt got any easier haha, be nice to have a small mini market selling a few essentials so you dont have to keep going down to supermarket ,Things like Suncream, etc,Tea bags Milk ,coffee ,and a  few other things.

We have just returned from 2 fantastic weeks at the Ariadne. Our room was fabulous, so spacious and always clean. The staff were all so friendly, including the maids. Although they didn't speak much English they always said hello and had a smile. The views were beautiful, I'm sure there is nothing better than waking up to see the sunrise over all of Tsilivi with olive trees and the crystal clear blue sea. The pool area was lovely, my children spent all day in the water and only came out to eat!! The walk up the hill was well worth the effort, we all look forward to coming back soon and meeting Pamela and Yannis new arrival.

We have just had the best holiday ever staying at the Ariadne Apartments. Fourteen of us were over for my daughters wedding and the staff at the Ariadne could not have been more helpful and friendly. Pamela was great keeping us informed of the best places to shop etc. I can't unserstand why people comment on the cleaners attitude, yes they appeared unfriendly however they obviously don't speak english and find it hard communicating. We had five appartments and all were cleaned and towels and sheets changed every second day. The pool was quiet and spotless as was the bar area. I would not hesitate in booking again for next year and look forward to seeing Pamela's new baby!
The hill everyone comments on is not as bad as people make out. After reading the reviews I was not looking forward to the 'steep climb' back to the apartments however it was not bad at all. An older person will need to take it slowly and not tackl;e the walk in the mid-day heat.
If you are looking for a restful holiday I would recommend you visit the Ariadne.

Visited Ariadne end of june for a weeks holiday, could not have wished for a better place to stay. This is my 5th time in Tsilivi and by far the best place Ive stayed. The views from our balcony were unbelievable, the pool area was great(plenty of sunbeds), the rooms were very clean and the owners were very friendly. Im off back to Tsilivi in a few weeks for another weeks holiday and wish I was staying here.  WE have already decided to book up for 2wks next year   cant wait x

Sorry to hear your experience of Ariadne was not what you were expecting.  As I said previous we had a fantastic time.

We were met at Reception by Pamela on arrival and the day we left we were waved off by Helen after many kisses and cuddles.  We had no complaints about the cleaners either always friendly and smiling. Our sheets and towels were changed every 3 days or so.  We did not stay around the pool all day every day or pool bar all night every night either!!!

We would go back again without hesitation.

These apartments are really not what they seem!!

Check out tripadvisor and read the negative reviews as i am gutted i did not take notice of those!!

On arrival the apartments/hotel looks really nice... on arriving noone was at reception to greet us, we had to go and find them and was just handed the keys with not much of a very welcoming greeting.

During our whole two week stay in fact the owners were quite ignorant, we walked past the owners wife a few times when going out and we didnt even get a smile or a hello.. it doesnt cost anything to be nice!!

It seems as though they only want to know you if you are one of those who sit around the pool all day or at their bar all night!!!

The room looked clean on arrival and is simple and basic. ( we had the 2 bedroom apartment)
Then every morning the cleaners would come, who were also rude!! They would barge in if you were still in the apartment and we asked them nicely one day to return a little while after as they had come early and they ignored our request and demanded the towel my dad had around him after showering!!!
All the cleaners seemed to do was wash down the floors. We had to clean the bath ourself and the mirror in the bathroom was in a filthy state during the whole 2 weeks, In 2 weeks our towels were only changed 3 times!!!!!!! Despite putting the soaking wet towels on the floor by the door so they knew they needed changing they would just fold them up and put them on the beds. Sheets were changed twice.. and sheets were grubby with fag holes in and stained. The drains in the bathroom would give out an unpleasant sewage smell also!!

Please becareful if you stay here as they dont seem to know what health and safety is!! The cleaners just mop the floor corridors outside your apartment and dont put any signs up to say the floor is wet which resulted in my dad almost falling flat on his face!!

The only good thing about this hotel is the views you get!!

The hill isnt as bad as what everyone pretends it to be but then again we come from buckinghamshire and we are used to hills however i wouldnt reccomend it if you had walking difficultys!!!

Upon leaving the hotel/apartments we expected someone to at least be at reception to say goodbye but again they were down at the bar so we had to go hand the keys in, even then the ignorant woman didnt even come up to say goodbye to everyone else!!!

If you are thinking of staying here dont be entirely fooled by all the what seem good reviews be sure to read the negative too and you will see a pattern emerging!!

Do not waste your time and money on this place!! Their are FAR more BETTER and hospitable hotels & apartments in Tsilivi!!!!

& if you do stay here then please could you feed the resident cats when possible as the owners let them fend for themselves and the poor things are skin and bone!

click to enlargeclick to enlarge We have just returned from a fabulous two weeks at Ariadne.  The walk up the hill can be a bit daunting at first but it is soooo worth it when you arrive.  Helen, Costas, Giannis and Pamela made our holiday even better.  Thank you.

There were 12 of us in total, 9 adults and 3 children ranging from 10 years of age to 68 years of age.  Would highly recommend these apartments.  We are looking forward to going back in 2010.

Just returned from a two week stay at the Ariadne.  Read all the reviews beforehand and was a bit concerned about the steep hill.  Yeah it was steep and in the heat of the day a bit daunting.  Having said that, the view was well worth it.  Apartments were excellent, sea views fantastic (from every apartment), nothing was too much trouble for the staff.  Apartments cleaned every day, clean linen most days.  Food at the bar was great and not too expensive.

Only gripe, echoing a previous reviewer.  All of the guests were English but some insisted on getting up at 8 am to put towels on the sun loungers.  What is that about?  There are plenty of sun loungers for everyone and although they don't all face the sun all day, you can always move them around!  Slightly irritating.

Best wishes to Yannis and Pamela for their wedding and thanks to them and Costas and Helen for a great holiday.
